From inside the app
This is the fastest route, and it takes effect immediately.
- Open Counter.
- Tap your emoji in the top right to open Your profile.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
- Read what will be deleted, tap Continue, then confirm with Delete.
There is no waiting period and no cancellation window. When the second confirmation is accepted, the deletion has already happened.
If you no longer have the app
Write to dawdawich@gmail.com from the email address the account uses, asking for the account to be deleted. You will get confirmation once it is done, within 30 days and usually much sooner.
What is deleted
- Every count you have ever made, in every category, and the record of when you made it.
- Your profile: name, avatar emoji, nickname, and email address.
- Your nickname reservation, which becomes available to someone else straight away.
- Your friends list, your friend code, and any friend requests you had sent or received.
- Your membership of every category.
- Any category you own and are the only member of — it is deleted with you, along with everything counted in it.
- Your sign-in credential.
What is not deleted
- Categories you own that other people are in. A category is never left without an owner, so one of the remaining members takes over. Their counts are theirs and stay where they are.
- Other people's counts. Nothing anyone else tapped is affected.
- Backups, for up to 30 days, after which they age out on their own. They are not readable by the app and are not used to restore a deleted account.
Deleting some data but keeping the account
You do not have to delete everything to remove your counts from one place. Leaving a category deletes every count you made there and nothing else — open the category, then choose Leave category from its menu.
